5 TIPS for Healthy Skin in this Hot Weather

Hi guys!

The weather is really hot these days! Eez like we’re serving punishment for a crime we didn’t commit…lol..

So, I thought it’d be nice to write 5 tips to keep your skin healthy and looking good during this weather:
1. Bathe twice a day:

Our skin produces more sweat and dirt during this weather. It is therefore important to have a bath every morning and evening to clean it and keep it healthy.

Having a bath also makes us feel refreshed, after being in the heat for so long.
2. Moisturize:

It might seem more logical to avoid moisturizers during this weather, since our bodies are producing more sweat. Sweat cannot replace the moisture and hydration our skin needs to keep it healthy.

Loss of moisture from the skin causes fine lines, wrinkles and makes our skin produce more oil in a bid to maintain the skin’s moisture, which in turn makes us greasier.

Lightweight moisturizers like Cerave Body Lotion with SPF 50, The Body Shop Moringa Milk Body Lotion and Aveeno Sheer Hydration Daily Moisturizing Lotion are perfect for this weather.
3. Prime:

If you use makeup, it is very important to use a primer. Without it, your makeup basically slides and melts off your face and that’s just not pretty…

A primer helps your makeup stay on longer and mattifying primers like Boots No7 Beautifully Matte primer and Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector help keep shine at bay.
4. Go light on the makeup:

This is the weather for lightweight foundations, BB and CC creams. You also want to go light on your makeup in highlighter, illuminator, bronzer.. You don’t want your face looking like a mess at the end of the day.

Some good lightweight foundations/creams available in our environment are:

LA Girl Pro HD BB cream

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream

Blackup CC cream

Sleek Be Beautiful BB cream

This, my lovely sisters is the most important of all.

To avoid the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays such as darkening, premature aging and even skin cancer…

Please(yes, I’m begging…lol) avoid going out when the sun is highest (which is around 11am-3pm)

If you have to, apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you go out; one with at least SPF 30 in it like Sleek Studio Protect Me, Restore Me Daytime Protection SPF30 or Sebamed Sun Care Multi Protect Sun Lotion in SPF 30 or SPF 50…

Also, try to wear protective clothing during this weather; such as scarves, caps and of course, SUNGLASSES!!!
I hope this helps!

Thanks for reading,
