Hi beauties!

This post is a review of the new LA Girl Pro Matte foundation. The LA Girl Pro HD concealer is one of the most popular concealers around, especially for the price and Shade range. I was excited to see whether their foundation would match up to my expectations.

Product Description

With a soft and suede-like finish, PRO.matte Foundation will have you covered and shine-free all day. Creamy, liquid formula provides smooth and buildable coverage for both day and night time wear. Minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for an even, soft focus effect. Paraben free formula with added vitamin E, B5 & sunflower oil.

I love the packaging of this foundation. Yes, the bottle! It looks so luxurious and that’s great. It also comes with a pump. It comes in a glass bottle though, which is not very travel-friendly. I should point out that the foundation itself is not as light as it seems on the bottle.

The foundation has a thick consistency, which is almost similar to the Classic mattifying foundation. I find it easier to blend out with a brush than with a sponge.

It has medium coverage, which is buildable but not to full coverage. It has a lovely velvety finish that I absolutely love.

It is also very mattifying, which makes it great for combination to oily skin. I noticed a little sheen in my T-zone at around the fifth hour, which is great considering the hot weather.

It settles into the fine lines around my mouth after about 4-5 hours(many foundations I use tend to do that).

The staying power is also great, but that also depends on what primer you’re using.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room…the shade range. This foundation has 14 shades with about 6 shades for darker skin tones. I feel that’s not good enough; especially since their concealer has 24 shades. I really don’t get why. My shade in this foundation is Golden Bronze. This Shade is a bit light but settles in after wearing it for a bit.

I really like this foundation. It has been ages since I found an affordable foundation that comes to par with the Revlon Colorstay foundation. Asides the shade range, it is just as mattifying and has a more beautiful finish than the Revlon Colorstay foundation. Below are the swatches of this foundation in Golden Bronze compared with Revlon Colorstay foundation in Caramel. Golden Bronze is slightly lighter with warm undertones while Caramel is darker with neutral undertones.

  1. Right now my fav drugstore foundation has to be loreal true match. After the revlon was no longer an option that was my go to. I have no intentions on buying this foundation as there’s no shade I see matching me
