Hello guys and welcome to another post on the blog!!!
Happy new month as well!!(seeing as this is my first post for the month..late late, I know)
A few months ago, I changed up the way I do my makeup and I saw a not-so-good difference in how my makeup looked. I’m coming around to doing things right hence this post.
I hope this helps someone to take their makeup from bleh to a 100.
Let’s dig in!
1. Swiping the foundation
This not only gives you less coverage. It also ends up looking patchy, which is just not pretty. Some foundations can be hard to dab in though, like the LA Girl Pro Matte and the Classic foundations. It’s still best to dab though.
2. Halo Brows
I was a victim for the longest time until I watched Anita Brows’ Snapchat(she’s an awesome MUA, btw) where she mentioned using a darker shade of concealer on top of her brows. It was such a revelation! I either do that or I don’t apply concealer at all.
3. Squeeze the blender
This makes a huge difference in how your face makeup sits. When your beauty blender is too damp or too dry, it applies patchy and picks up product. I run my sponge under the tap and squeeze on a towel to get out as much of the moisture as possible.
4. Skincare
I think I’ve mentioned a number of times how good skincare is integral to good makeup. Whether you have dry, normal or combination skin, you need your base to be smooth and plump. Foundation sinks into your skin instead of sitting on top. Moisturizer is your best friend. I notice a difference especially when I use argan oil.
5. A Good powder brush
I know it seems insignificant but it really isn’t. A big brush with soft and not too densely packed bristles is key. It spreads the powder so evenly.
6. Concealer
I was previously a fan of applying my concealer underneath my eyes and not spreading it out. This meant I had to move product around a lot which makes application patchy. Now, I spread the concealer and dab in to blend. It gives me a more flawless and Mali Magic-looking finish.
7. Smile lines
This one is hard. I figured out recently that the more I talk and make expressions when I do my face makeu before setting with powder, the more lines and wrinkles I have.
I hope this tips help you achieve a flawless looking finish that lasts all day…What are your favourite tips for staying beat? Leave a comment below…I’ve missed hearing from you all!!!
