Happy new week, guys!
Today’s post is a review of the not-so-new Makeup Revolution Fast Base foundation stick. This is the first foundation stick I’m trying out. I’ve never been interested in them because they tend to be too dewy for my combination to oily skin.
P.S: I have been reviewing a lot of Makeup Revolution products because I love that the brand offers really good quality at affordable prices. They recently released a new line, the Revolution Pro line which I’m hoping to try out soon.
Enough of the chit chat. Let’s dig into this review!
Foundation just got faster! Launching in 18 shades and a range of undertones, Fast Base Foundation quickly perfects, contours and highlights your complexion.
The easy-to-apply stick formula melts into skin, blending seamlessly to leave a fresh and dewy finish.
Twist up, swipe on and blend out with fingers, a beauty sponge or your favourite foundation brush.
Packaging!!! It’s super sleek and cute. The outer tubing is made of plastic with the letters embossed in bronze/rose gold while the inner tubing is half plastic, half rose-gold. Super sleek!
It contains a good amount of product. I couldn’t get any information on how much it is exactly.
Upon application, it literally glides on the skin which is great. It blends out nicely(dab once or twice and it’s in). It lives up to the “fast base” name. This foundation stick gives a poreless dewy finish that looks fresh. It also gives medium coverage.
It comes in 18 shades, which isn’t the absolute best. My closest match was F13, which was too cool toned for me and ended up a tad bit dark especially after I had worn it for a few hours.
Speaking of wear, I blotted this foundation before I set it with powder(because dewy finish and combination skin tend not to agree). By the second to third hour, I started to get oily in my T-zone. By the fifth hour, I had to blot a lot. By the end of the day(after about seven hours, it had worn away on my nose, forehead and around my mouth).
The picture compares this foundation in shades F12 and F13 to other foundations I own.
Here’s a video where I use it in creating a look:
This foundation will be an absolute dream for people with dry to normal skin. It has a lovely fresh finish and good coverage.
People with combination will have to pair this with a heavy duty mattifying primer and pull some the stunts I mentioned here to wear this all day. That or wear it for short periods in cool weather.
I don’t think this foundation is for oily skin.
Price: £5/ $9
