Hiya, beauties!

Welcome back to the blog(for the oldies).

If you’re new here, my name is Ifedayo and this is my blog where I share all things related to beauty(skincare, makeup etc).

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on a primer I recently got, the Milani Prime Shield primer. I ran out of my Hylamide Matte 12 and my Smashbox photofinish Primer was also hitting rock bottom.

I needed a backup primer and I got this one.

Keep reading to see my thoughts on it.

Product Description

Meet the invisible but powerful answer to picture-perfect skin! Prime Shield Mattifying + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer softens the appearance of fine lines, large pores and flaws and creates a smooth canvas for makeup application. This translucent primer blends invisibly onto the skin, resulting in a beautiful matte finish.(Vegan).

This primer comes in a cute black tube and contains 20ml of product. I find the volume to be quite small as it makes it easy to run through it quickly.

Upon squeezing out the product, it is transparent in colour and has a silicon feel(which many printers tend to have).

It disappears on application and does not leave any cast. It also does not form tiny balls when applied on the skin.

“Before rubbing in”“After rubbing in”

It smoothes out the skin and mattifies oily areas(for example, the T-zone) quite a bit. It also helps makeup hold up and stay longer.

However, it does not fill in fine lines(if you have creases or are above 35, please take note). This bothers me because I have smile lines and I like a primer that helps with them.

This primer is a good affordable primer, especially for young people with normal to combination skin. It also does a good job of smoothing out the skin.

If you have oily, mature or dehydrated skin, this might not be your guy.

Price: $10/ N3500

Where I bought mine: Dhoopy Dhoopy Supermarket, Surulere, Lagos.

Have you tried out this primer? What are your thoughts? What’s your go-to primer and why do you love it so? I’d love to hear from you…
