REVIEW: THE ORDINARY NIACINAMIDE 10% AND ZINC 1%

Hello, guys!!

Today’s post is another skincare product review. Do you prefer skincare or makeup posts?? I’d love to know!

This post is a review of The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% serum.

Product Description

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.

Apply to entire face morning and evening before heavier creams.

Review

This serum is packaged in a 30ml transparent bottle with a dropper applicator(which we all love). It is sanitary and the dropper does not malfunction(I hate when droppers do that).

It is a lightweight serum that is transparent in colour. Its consistency is quite similar to that of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid but it is less sticky.

It sinks well into the skin and layers well under other products.

I have used this serum for more than a month and I have noticed that the oiliness in my T-zone is markedly reduced. I like to apply it, especially in the mornings before applying makeup. It also helps to blur my fine lines, after I apply it.

I didn’t notice any striking reduction in my hyperpigmented areas.

Verdict

People with combination to oily, acne-prone skin will love this for sebum control. I really like to apply it because it keeps shine/oil at bay and keeps my makeup more matte through the day.

Price: £5/ N5000

  2. I currently use this product but only at night and i cut back on its use to every other night as i found it burns slightly on application. Now you say you found a decrease in oil production following its continued use I have to say i concur. I’m definitely going to repurchase this product. Happy holidays to you and your family and I wish you a prosperous 2019!

    1. Hi!!!!!
The niacinamide definitely makes you less oily. The burning sensation you feel may be attributed to some thing else you’re using with it. Your toner or other treatments, maybe?
Thanks a lot for sticking around

      1. i’ve thought about that but when i omit it from my night time routine and keep all other products (day and night) i don’t have that issue so i have attributed it to that product
