REVIEW: THE NEUTROGENA HYDROBOOST LINE

Hello, guys!

In today’s post, I will be reviewing 3 products from the not-so- new but beloved Neutrogena Hydroboost Line; the water gel lotion in SPF 50, Hydroboost water gel cream and the express hydrating spray.

1.Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel Cream

Product Description

Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel Cream is a moisturising gel that has been formulated to double the skin’s moisture. The formula features an innovative progressive release system, which works to absorb moisture from the air and release it into the skin over time to combat dryness, leaving skin soft and radiant. It also contains highly purified hyaluronic acid for extra hydration and moisture retention.

Review

This gel cream comes in a 50ml jar and has a white gel-like consistency. It does not have a particular scent to it. It has a nice thin consistency which makes it absorb easily into the skin.

It also feels very lightweight on the skin, which is great for people with combination to oily skin.

Upon application, it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and moisturized without feeling greasy.

However, I noticed that this cream has different types depending on the country where you’re purchasing from.

The most hydrating version of this cream(which is recommended by dermatologists for surface hydration) is that for Extra Dry skin which contains Hyaluronic Acid.

I would be repurchasing that formula next time as I have heard it is more hydrating than this formula.

Price: £12.99/ $16/ N8000

2.Neutrogena Hydroboost Express Hydrating Spray

Product Description

Replenish dry, wanting skin with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Express Hydrating Spray; a weightless, fast-absorbing formula that delivers instant and long-lasting moisture.

Powered by Hyaluronic Acid, an ingredient capable of holding up to 1000x its weight in water, the skin-quenching mist cools and hydrates to leave the body feeling smooth, supple and rejuvenated after use. Penetrates quickly without greasy residue so you can get dressed immediately.

Suitable for sensitive skin. Tested under dermatological control.

Review

This was the first product I purchased from the Hydroboost line. I wanted to buy a hydrating face mist, similar to the Olay hydrating mists.

I was initially surprised when I saw this. It has a liquid milk-like consistency, which is a little heavier than most hydrating mists.

I love how hydrating this is. It keeps my skin looking super moisturized and plump. I love using this when my face is still damp after a shower. It locks in all of the moisture. I find this to be more hydrating than the earlier mentioned gel Cream.

It dispenses a thicker mist when the bottle is held close to the face and a thinner mist when the bottle is far from the face.

It takes a little longer than a normal mist to get absorbed into the skin but does not leave a residue or greasy finish, making it amazing for all skin types.

It is also super affordable and totally worth it.

Price: £5.49/ $7.30

Review

I recently purchased this sunscreen and I have been LOVING it. It ticks all the boxes for a great sunscreen, contains SPF 50, blocks UVA and UVB rays, is super hydrating, does NOT leave a white cast and wears well under makeup.

I also love the amazing sheen it leaves on the skin after application. It is neither matte nor greasy. It is also very lightweight and does not leave streaks after application. It has a light blue tint when firsr applied but it disappears completely upon rubbing it in.

It applies better than the Neutrogena Ultra sheer SPF Line and has a better finish, which makes it a good choice on no-makeup days.

If you’re looking for a sunscreen and you are wondering which to buy, I would totally recommend this one. Neutrogena killed it with this one. Totally worth the hype!

Price: £10/ $12.49/ N7500

Where to buy in Nigeria:

Beauty Frenzy Shop

Beeola Beauty

BeautyRevNg

(L-R: Water Gel SPF50, Water Gel Cream)

(SPF when rubbed into the skin)

Verdict

The Neutrogena Hydroboost line has amazing products, my favorites are the sunscreen and express hydrating spray. I am looking to try some of their body products.
